CPAP Question
Hey guys, showing my age here. Does everybody travel with their CPAP machine that they use at the house? Are there CPAP machines that are better suited for RV travel? My CPAP machine is rather large and I'm not sure what the power usage is. But I've seen smaller ones, I'm just wondering if anyone uses something more portable.

For mine I have a 12v connector cable. It uses very little power. No problem for boondocking

I use the one from my house to go on the road with me. It's a ResMed and I haven't had any problems with it yet. Our MH is 30 amp and I keep it plugged in.

I take the house Resmed with me also and have had no problems. I am usually at a park at night so power is not an issue. A couple of times I used the inverter for 110v power. Lucky for me the outlet next to the bed was on the inverter circuit. mark

Which machine do you use that you consider it "large"?
I also use my home machine in the MH but use the 12 Volt adapter cable and I use the humidifier. Was boondocking this past weekend with 2 fantastic vent fans running and the CPAP I got down to 12.1 volts in the morning on my 200 AH capacity battery bank so I am happy with that.

I use mine from home and purchased battery pack specifically for ResMed to use while boondocking.

I just used my ResMed although I quit using it a couple years ago. Got it out and found it was vovered in black mold. No way am I using it till thoroughly cleaned.
In the MH there are plugs right beside the bed. Just plug in and used it. Mine ran fine on both MSW and PSW inverters.

I talked to my doctor about getting a second one. Told him that if mine goes out I won't be able to sleep, plus it was about 15 years old. Put the new one in the house and use the old one in the MH. When we're not plugged in, the inverter takes over and have not had a problem.

My CPAP is only about 8" square and I use it every night, wherever I am! We don't do any boondocking so I don't have to worry about that!

Both my wife and I use CPAP machines. We have used them both w/o shore power and had no issues?

My CPAP machine used very little energy. On the other hand the humidifier tank heater uses more. We almost never boondock so it's not a problem for us.

C-Pap machine
We never boondock. I just use my big machine from the house. One time I forgot the special cord so it was useless. Try this website wwwC-Pap shop.com It might give you some useful information.

If you have insurance they approve a new machine every 4 to 5 years. I have several old ones although the new machines are so much better the old one will only get used in an emergency. The new ones adjust themselves to you apnea events rather than being set to a hard pressure number. Now they use a range.

I bought one to keep in the RV...it's tiny and fits anywhere...works perfectly.

Hope this helps
