Question Cummins Diesel 360 HP Engine

I am wanting input as to the performance of the Jayco Seneca 360 HP Diesel engine while towing a toad in the Mountains. If anyone has experience with this model or another model Super C Class with the 360 HP Diesel with 800 lbs. of torque in the Mountains I would appreciate your input. Does this engine produce enough towing power to get up and down Mountains at a reasonable speed? Thank you for your input.

I take it that at 360 HP and 800 lbs torque, this is an ISB , 6.7l .

Do you have any idea what the total weight, of the RV and trailer will be?

Is the transmission a 3000 series?

Cummins 360 HP

I have a Renegade Valencia with 360 HP and have no problems in the mountains, just don't expect it to climb the mountains like a car. Let the engine work, which is good for it, and you will arrive at the top just fine.

Your question cannot have a definite answer. The factor involved is HP to weight ratio. The usual minimum ratio is 1 HP for every 100# of weight for acceptable overall performance.
Your definition of "reasonable" is likely a lot different than seasoned RV'ers. You will not be able to climb grades like small vehicles, more closely to semi-trucks.
If you think that unacceptable; apply the 1 to 100 ratio to your family auto and see what HP engine it would have.

The 40 foot tiffin allegro bay super c has that engine and apparently its not underpowered, so it should be fine.

Edit: apparently the allegro bay and seneca are almost identical.

We drove a 300HP Cummins C8.3L powered rig that weighed 31,000 lbs and towed a 4,500 lb Jeep Grand Cherokee. Torque was 820 lbs.

The rig went up and down most of the passes on the West Coast, but never at full highway speed. Many times it hunkered down at 35 mph and kept on moving upwards.
