Don't know. But I have heard that the upcharge for the Spartan K2 chassis was something like $14K over the Mountain Master GT. The heavier frame rails, 500 HP ISM versus 400 HO ISL, Allison 40000 versus 3000, etc, etc. all add up so I'm guessing that most diesel pushers won't be found under Kmart's Blue Light special.

I've often wondered myself, but have never seen an answer. I suspect the price is somewhat variable depending on purchase volume, long tern contract, etc. And of course the chassis configuration, since each RV manufacturer orders chassis configured a different way. In other words, there really is no standard "freightliner RV chassis" to get a price on.

I would imagine it's a lot like ordering a computer, which I do a lot of, or even a vehicle. There's a base price which includes certain standard and necessary features, and then you "build" it based on what you want added to it, which of course changes the price. Probably a lot fewer choices for a chassis though. Bigger customers probably get special pricing or terms.

Bus shell ???
On one of those TV shows about custom building a Deluxe Coach mentioned the price for a PREVOST bus shell was US $ 1/2 Million!!!
I just don't know, if that included a full windshield container with fluid?

I reviewed the info I saved from the National RV BK in 2008. A 32,000# GVWR Freightliner Chassis was in the $57-60K range. Ford gas chassis were in the low $20K. NRV wasn't holding any WCC gas chassis. Keep in mind these were the costs to the manufacturer.
The Freightliner chassis was a 360HP Cummins SC, raised rail chassis.

Actually there are a LOT of chassis configuration options, at least on a Freightliner XC. Here are a few I have observed:
o Raised vs straight vs lowered rails
o Wheelbase
o Type & brand of front end (two IFS plus a solid axle)
o Rear sxle
o Engine size
o Cooling (side or rear radiator)
o Air or spring suspension
o GVWR
o Tire size and brand
o Smart wheel or standard
o Adjustable brake pedal or not
o Alternator size
o Fuel tank size
o Wheel type (steel or alloy) and size
o Instrumentation
o Air dump system or not
o Daytime running lights
o Tilt/telescope steering none or two types)

At $14k, I would call that CC chassis a distress price. Engine alone would sell for more than that. Even a "3/4" engine which in the diesel biz is like a "long block" to a gasser, would be about $20k for the ISM.
