Do I drive like a trucker?
Of course I do. Still carry my ClassA CDL too.
I feel comfortable on the interstate with a 105.5k rig in the lane next to me. The Honda Accord with fart can muffler passing on the Sui-side...not so much.

I drive like a trucker. I wish more truckers drove like a trucker. My new motorhome came with a Mobile Eye. It tells me the distance (in seconds of travel) between me and the vehicle in front of me. I used to flash my headlights when a truck was far enough ahead of me to pull back into my lane. Not so much anymore. Most times, a semi pulls in front of me with less than one second of distance. Many times, it's less than 0.5 second.

When on a two-lane road and I am traveling slower than those behind me, I will pull over (provided there is a place to do so safely) when there are three or four vehicles following, unless there are long straight passing zones and little oncoming traffic. In those situations, if a driver can't figure out how to pass me, it's on him or her.

On the freeway, when there is an on-ramp, I try to move over, if I can. If not, I maintain a constant speed and hope the entering car can figure out what a highway speed is. If a truck is entering and I can't move over, I accerate or slow down so the truck doesn't have to brake.

My father drove in his work and taught me how to drive, including how to follow trucks at a distance that allowed them to see my vehicle and the proper way to signal that they were clear and could pull in front of me. Fifty years ago almost every trucker would flash his running lights in thanks. Now many still will but not quite as many as in the past.

I learned pretty quickly on long hauls that the truckers I am traveling with in my DP and toad will treat me with respect once they figure out that I intend to show them the same respect. I don’t impede the flow of things and they do the same for me. It makes for a much more relaxing drive.
