Does anyone have experience with Good Sam's Tire & Wheel Protection Plan

They want $349 for 5 years for a class A motorhome.

I personally don't think that insurance is worth much, but as long as you understand what it covers it is your choice. Basically to reimburses you for road hazard damage to the tires or wheel. It doesn't cover wear or underinflation damage - just "road hazards" like debris. It's not towing or flat tire service either - that comes under the Roadside Assist insurance, whether you get it from Good Sam or another RA service.

Class A's of the last two decades use robust tires that are the same as used on trucks & buses. Road hazard damage is relatively rare, so the chances of having to buy a tire on the road are low. Not zero, of course, but low.

We have it. Had a blowout on one of the dual rear tires. They make you pay for the whole replacement then the pro rate the tire and reimburse you. Our bill was $1100 for a goodyear tire. They paid me back $900. I think it was worth it.

tire and wheel good sam

We just used them and I have a claim in for reimbursement. I am at a campground in MI when I noticed the large gash in a rear inside tire. Goodyear sent out a young man and a new tire to replace. I had to give a 500.00 payment on the credit card, that will be reimbursed.

That said, I have so far to keep the tire and they may want it to be mailed back to them, even after I have taken pictures as proof. We leave in the morning, and I have not heard back in 3 days what to do with the tire.

We have to now either tie it to the roof of our toad, or find a place to take the wrecked tire. The goodyear guy thought that was odd. I don't know how to put up a picture for you.

Waiting to hear what is next

good sam tire update

Good Sam paid all but 106.00 of my 500.00 dollar bill from goodyear for the new tire and change. I was able to get rid the old tire before I left town, I did not have to mail it in.
