We do not have any bumps in the night, but here is Florida the birds will land on the roof and begin pecking at the bugs that might be there.

It drives our cat nuts, but a quick operation of a roof vent chases them away.

Thanks to all for your insights. I'll play around with the levelers and the process I use to level... including placing my 2x6 jack pads under them.
