We have a 2000 DSDP. The fridge has an ice maker that just decided to
stop making ice. We've defrosted twice. No luck. There IS water in
the tray and the freezer is plenty cold (7-8 degrees). Any ideas? Is
there a fuse somewhere for the ice maker? Could it be the timer motor?

Thanks.

Peace,
Rich

If the fridge runs OK on 117VAC and there aren't any broken wires/unplugged connectors anywhere, then it's probably a failure in the ice maker itself, and the remedy would be to replace the ice maker.

The icemaker for our Norcold refridgerator plugs into a standard 120V duplex outlet located behind the access cover on the outside of the coach. The refridgerator itself also plugs into the same outlet. Assuming your Dometic is set up similarly, make sure the plug for the icemaker has not worked its way loose and make sure there is power to BOTH outlets. Our icemaker stopped working when our mororhome was only a few months old. It turned out the contacts inside the outlet were defective. I installed a new outlet and it has been fine since.

Did the water freeze yet? If not then you may have antifreeze in the mold. If it has, the ice sensing arm should be down for it to continue. If the arm is down and you have power, as was mentioned before, you either have a broken gear or bad mold thermostat. Let us know more info and we might be able to help.

This may also help. If you know the model number of your fridge you can go here, then go to the "service documents" section. Scroll down the list and download the complete service manual for your fridge. The manuals are in adobe acrobat format and easily downloaded. Hope this helps.

My ice maker plugs into a seperate plug in the refrigerator bay. That plug is on the ground fault breaker in the bath. Any chance that breaker may have tripped? The fridge would still run but no power to the ice maker.

Checking for antifreeze is a good idea, it will take a few cycles to be rid of it all especially if you don't blow out the water lines first. The "ice maker" is really just a mechanism that pops the cubes out after they have frozen. If your freezer is at 7 degrees the water will freeze and you will get ice. But if you have antifreeze still in there it will not freeze. Make sure your water pump is on if you are not connected to water hookup, and as mentioned, on most rv ice makers you have to be hooked up to 110 or have your generator running for the ice maker to operate.

My ice maker plugs into a separate circuit from the fridge. The fridge will work fine but ice maker won't if the ground fault is tripped. My ground fault is in the bathroom. MIKE
