I would google your State you are concerned with open container law, KS allows it by statute attached for motorhome and buses.

KSA 8-1599: Transportation of liquor in opened containers unlawful; exceptions; penalty; report of prior convictions; city or county not prohibited from enacting comparable ordinance or resolution, requirements.

That's why it may be a good idea to keep the coach door closed and speak with the officer through the drivers window. Opening the coach door could be construed as an invitation to enter your premises. JMHO

That is my understanding as well. But than again Ca. Is not a DRY state.
