DT04-4P-RT What is it and what does it do?
I was digging around in the fuse compartment (in the small basement storage area under the driver seat) and I found this guy with signs of having been very hot somewhere along the line. It appears to terminate a series of wires or to connect them together, but aside from that, I have no idea what the wires do or where they go.

Anyone have any ideas?

That appears to be a diode isolator for something and has definitely been hot. The symbols on the side are for diodes. Is the wiring harness it was attached to labeled with its purpose?

No, not really. It's part of a whole mess of other wires (pic 1) some of which to up to another set of fuses that plug into the wall of the compartment to the left of the large fuse panel. (Pic 2) Inside the plug in picture 2, are a set of large, square fuses. At least, I assume they are fuses of some sort.

Here is a link to what appears to be the exact same problem on another user's 2016 Newmar Ventana. Looks like it was a recall item for a wiring harness problem. Here’s the link:

Edit: Have not spoken with Newmar yet, but tested and the headlights are indeed compromised. Turn signals are operational, so are running lights, so at least I'm not dead in the water. Have an appointment with NIRVC in March, so I'll have this addressed at that time. Meanwhile I'll have to drive only during daylight hours.

there was a headlight recall on my 2016 Ventana. Looking but haven't found the paperwork. I can not remember if it was a Newmar or National Transportation recall. NIRVC in Lewisville Tx. performed the recall

I called Newmar and gave them the part number. They said there is no recall, and I left it at that. But later I thought to myself, maybe I should have asked for a list of recalled items as she may have not categorized my need correctly. So I'll call back again this morning and see what I can find out.
In the meantime, I went to Freightliner, and they said the part is not a Freightliner part, but they got me another one through another vendor. It should arrive today and I'll install it, but I'm not sure replacing a damaged part with a new part will fix the problem.

Reading the other linked thread it appears that there is a design issue with the diodes... being undersized (or right at what that circuit handles ) From the discussion it sounded like a wiring harness change was also part of the fix.
If it were me I think I would be measuring actual Aml draw under different conditions of lights on.
If it is that marginal and failures noted I would think it would qualify for a NHTSA incident report. You might find other instances of the same problem there as well. I'd file a report to document the occurrence.
If a real safety issue (losing headlights and electrical components melting) FL or Newmar (whoever designed & installed it) should stand behind it regardless of in/out of warranty.
Trust me, I have had to fight to get an unrelated safety issue corrected and having 2 NHTSA reports to reference helped resolve the dispute satisfactorily... and it's free and no downside.
