Totally agree with that!

I also have 2 golden retrievers which I am concerned about leaving in the RV while I am out. Any thoughts and experiences greatly appreciated. Finally, there are a few uses out there such as "dual glazed" or "thermo windows" are they the same as real dual pane or is there a difference.

My understanding is dual pane there are two windows with a "space between them?
That's the only kind I would consider true dual-pane windows!

Am I right in this regard? Thanks
Personally, I would never buy an RV without dual-pane windows!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

What about the "wording" though, how many ways can you say dual pane without saying dual pane. Is what they call the windows "dual glazed" and Thermo pane" the same thing as dual pane or something else? Thanks

"THERMOPANE" is a trademark of Libbey-Owens-Ford Company for the "window panes" they make with "two pieces of glass with a space between them".

While "dual pane glass" or "insulated double pane glass" can be used to describe "THERMOPANE" glass ..... NOT ALL "dual pane glass" or "insulated double pane glass" is "THERMOPANE" glass.

We bought in the South with only single pane windows and quickly realized the difficulty cooling and maintaining a comfortable temp in the Texas heat. Then we moved North to SD and, as winter RV'ers, now wish we had dual panes here too for the cold and wind. To R&R our windows, would cost $1000's. We survived all seasons in both regions but our advise, regardless of you intended climate, spend the money and get the dual pane windows with any new rig.

I agree and because of the doggies and condensation, the dual pane is a must have for me.

Now, "While "dual pane glass" or "insulated double pane glass" can be used to describe "THERMOPANE" glass ..... NOT ALL "dual pane glass" or "insulated double pane glass" is "THERMOPANE" glass."

Here goes the word game, an occupational hazard for me. Perhaps it can be cleaned up a tad with some logic. If dual pane windows are defined as two (2) pieces of glass with a space between them, are there any other characteristics to define them? If "THERMOPANE" is a trade name to define "their" definition of dual pane windows that is one thing. If the two pieces of glass they use is different in any meaningful way from other glass than that is something else. So which one is it?

To me it doesn't matter what it's called.... or how it's made.... 2 panes of glass with an air space between is a better insulator than a single pane of glass.

I saw a coach the other day (I think it was Allegro) with 1/4" thick single pane windows. Sales guy said they were better/lower maintenance than dual pane. Anyone have experience with these?

I would never buy a MH with single pane windows.

I don't see a motorhome in your future. If you are this hung-up on window glass terminology, going over the specs of a complex and confusing pile of parts called a motorhome with a factory, dealer, private party or whomever will make you or them crazy. Or they will tell you move on as they will have run out of patience.

You could have a "middle man"
do the deal for you?

Good luck,
it's needed here!
