Dump Stations and Potable Water

I'm thinking of using the Love's Travel center on the way from Boston to Florida to dump my tank and refill my fresh water. Do they have potable water available or just water to do a black tank rinse?

Depends on the location. Many of these trucker centers have removed the dump stations due to abuse.

I’ve never seen one I could get it confirmed is was potable water. Most state it is not. I would never chance it with the amount of people who have removed the air gap from their flush system.

Fact is these water supplies are probably from potable sources but proximity to a sewer dump station probably keeps them from being "certified" as such--just guessing.

I've gotten potable water at the semi fuel pumps at many truck centers - PFJ for one. They may not be at every diesel pump island, but usually at least 1 within the group of them.

The state codes required that the spigot and hose at the dump station be labeled as non potable. The waterline that fed that spigot and hose was just a branch of the park’s main supply.

it's "not potable" in reality because too many people like to shove the nozzle into their sewer hose to rinse it out or let other nasty stuff spray on the nizzle.

Reminds me of a discussion I had with my daughter once......I asked her how the toilet water tasted as she drank a glass of water from the kitchen sink......I"ll wait........
