Easiest way to remove old RV sealer?

Any tips on removing old sealer when you are ready to reseal around windows and joints on a motorhome? Or is it best to just pick it off / scrape it off?

I have used an oscillating tool with a smooth flat blade to remove caulking in other applications and it works amazingly well. For some places a flexible blade works best, others a stiff blade.

Doing the front clearance lamps now. I lookes at different removers for silicone and it's all overnight soak times with a caveat on paint. So alcohol, plastic spluge and fingernails for me . A windshield shop uses the perfect plastic sticks for it. Had one for a long time. 3/8 x 5/8 with tapered ends. Hard nylon about 7 inches long. Sure wish I could find mine.. hahaha.

I bought a set of hard plastic scrappers from Harbor Freight when I redid all my belt molding. worked great.

Got so excited I ordered the amazon ones. Really miss mine. In the container somewhere our harbor freight didn't have those. I went there looking. Those look great

Resealing around clearance light bases is a waste of time and effort IMO. Years ago I had a water leak from a clearance light, resealed all the light bases, still leaked. Then I removed a clearance light lens to clean it. That's when i noticed a dirty water line on the inside of the lens.
Water was leaking into the lens but could not leak out because the bottom side was sealed with dirt.
This caused the lens to fill with water until reaching the wiring hole into the cap. Then water flowed along the wiring into the RV wall, where eventually I noticed wood rot.
My solution was to drill a 1/8" hole in the bottom of each lens, and unseal the bottom of each light base so any water behind the base can leak away too.
