Emergency Exit Window won't latch

I had to open the emergency exit window in the bedroom. Now I cannot get it to latch back in place. Anyone else have this issue? Are they all made the same? My rig is 19 yrs old.

You may have to have someone on the outside push on the window as you relatch it. On mine I can pull from the inside, using the latch that releases the sliding window, enough to get it to latch.

look at the weather stripping very carefully. It may be jamming the window from closing. Often it will come loose after years of the window not being opened.

Good time to spray all rubber seals w/ silicone spray to reduce sticking where not designed to stick, for easy opening in emergencies, but also open now and verify all gasket is properly seated. If some stuck to moving window, easily displaced, and maybe causing the problem?
