My wife and I have been full time RVing on and off since 2004. Our first RV was a 36' Montana 5th wheel. I am an engineer who did a lot of contract work which enabled us to live in FL, KY, IL, CA, TX. We are back in FL and live in a house, since I am permanently employed and done with contract work. Our 2nd 5th wheel is a 30' Forest River Flagstaff which we bought in TX (traded in the Montana). We've always wanted a diesel pusher motorhome and we were able to buy a 1997 HR Endeavor 37WDS that needs kitchen and living room work, which has been gutted, needs some floor, interior wall and ceiling work due to past roof leak problems. We got it for under 10K and mechanically it is sound with only 60k miles on the Cummins engine. I found a Salvage yard in KY that has about 16 HR Endeavors for parts. They are Visone RV.
Does anyone know of or recommend any Salvage yards in FL?
From the exterior, it appears that Endeavor model years from 1997 thru 2001 may share similar parts. Any comments on this?
Any known issues with the Cummins engine or Allison Transmission? What injection does this Cummins use?
Any other known issues or quirks of the Endeavor model?
The front passenger leveling hydraulic cylinder doesn't fully retract. Any tips for this issue?
The Slide doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone change their own spare tire or do you use a truck service?
Anyone install Solar Panels on their roofs? Use Lithium or used Tesla batteries?
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
