Extended Service Plan with Assurant

Hello.

We purchased our 2015 motorhome 2 years ago from Camping World and purchased an extended warrant via Good Sam with Assurant.

Each time we filed a claim for repair, Assurant always provides a lower quote than any repair facility we have used. We needed repair in California, Tennessee, Virginia and now Maryland, so it's not a geographical issue.

To resolve past issues, I've always had to escalate the problem to Good Sam since Assurant refuses to adjust its numbers. My coach is in the shop now and the price difference to repair my steering is $2,000 and approximately $6,000.00 (mostly labor) for repairing the A/C again.

Anyone else encountering this problem? I just checked the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Assurant only has 1 star (poor rating).

Not surprising! I would never purchase an extended warranty plan from any company! They all leave themselves too many loopholes to get out of paying claims!

Having owned 3 coaches, the first one was a 1998 Newmar and it didn't give me any problems. I moved up to a Forest River Berkshire and it was plagued with nothing but problems and I had no extended warranty. Purchased the Berkshire new and thought if it was new, I shouldn't have any problems - wrong. We had to pay over $40K in repairs just to get the bucket in shape just to sell it. Purchased our 2015 Newmar Dutchstar and had minor repairs done but Assurant's rates don't come close to what repair centers are charging. I purchased the extended warranty from Camping World and am seeking resolution (again) from them. I'm waiting on a response and if unfavorable, I have no choice but to seek legal counsel for breech of contract because my contract says nothing about covering the gap for repairs. I posted here to see if anyone else has experienced this problem and how they resolved it.
