Fill Valve Leak

My city/fill valve leaks (just noticed after filling my main water tank and keeping it connected to city water). Now that we are disconnected and using the pump, does this cause the pump to run even when there is no demand?

It should not, but if the pump doesn’t stop, check to be sure outside shower knobs are both off. Could also be inside shower. If they are on the pump will continue to run just circulating water.

Yes you have to switch back to tank fill on most MHs or pump will run continuously. When on city water it will recirculate and run on many as well.
If water is coming back through fill port many owners have used a garden hose plug until fixing fill/city valve or check valve depending on setup.

Fill Valve Leak

Thanks for the replies this far.

I have the valve on “Normal” which is where it always is except when filling.
All water faucets are off.
I cannot find any leaks.
Still the pump runs every 20-30 seconds.

I do have a plug in the city fill port however no water was coming out of it.

There is a definite sound of water in the lines in the area of the valve. And since I know that after I filled the tank and returned the valve to Normal, it was still getting through the valve because the water kept overflowing.

It seems logical that the pump is running and trying to pressurize the fill line.

I do not think this is the check valve but instead the switching valve. Agree?

Yes, it can make pump run, check that hose washer SCREEN NOT facing INward, pushing on the valve stem? IF STILL LEAKING, INSTALL Water PRESSURE REGULATOR as temp fix, valve inside it should stop leak? LUCK

If pump running or cycling, a few possibilities: 1) HWTank NOT yet filled? 2) Check valve (internal to pump on most) is leaking pressure backwards back into FW tank; 3) CITY WATER HOSE connection CHECK VALVE leaking externally; 4) PLUMBING Leaks elsewhere. HOPE this helps?
