Finding MH and Trailer friendly fuel stations

Is there an app or something that can tell you how MH or travel trailer accessible gas stations are? The Wawa near my home is pretty easy pull thru, but just getting off the highway is usually a crapshoot. I prefer to avoid the truck stops if I can.

Watching, this topic has come up but don't remember a specific app.

I usually use Gasbuddy to find areas of lower prices with hopefully several stations on the same exit. This will give me options as to easy in/out. I'll take into consideration on how I will get back on the highway, meaning either areas to turn around and Stop light control on intersection so I can cross traffic.

If I have time I'll used GoogleEarth to get a better picture of access.

If I am parked in an area for a period of time I'll do some recognizance to find a place to fill up on my way out.

But this approach is not perfect so I'll keep my options open and be able to travel further for easy access.

I don’t know of an app. Normally you can a station where the pump lanes run parallel to the street. If you are in an are with limited service stations I will pull a station up on google earth.

Depends on if your looking for gas or diesel. Gas is pretty easy to find, diesel then truck stops are the best bet.

We do similar to what was described above.
- use your app of choice for checking prices
- use satellite views to determine how the pumps are laid out and how much room there is to maneuver - keep in mind that if satellite shows empty parking lot there may be a lot of cars at peak times which greatly restrict maneuvers.
- use google street view, or equivalent, if step 2 left any lingering questions

Truck stops are usually safest bet for maneuvering, just be sure to have your choice of discount cards since truck stops typically have inflated prices since they expect you to use discounts

Look up the location on Google Earth or Google Maps and use satellite view or street view. Zoom in and see what it looks like. Hopefully the phots are not too old.

All good advice. If you are not using Truck stops for diesel then use gas buddy (app) and then google earth to see what the layout is.

Both Love's and Pilot/Flying J have apps that will tell you how RV friendly their locations are. But that might not meet your "prefer to avoid the truck stops" criteria.

Pilot Flying J has RV-specific fuel islands in the same lot as automobile fuels. Thus you are not actually in a truck stop.
Now if you are only hunting the cheapest fuel, stick with gas buddy and hope for the best.

We have a cross-country trip starting in about ten days. I used Google Maps and the Flying J website to route it months ago. We have a toad so I already have every gas stop planned out. For most of the trip there are Flying J's with RV lanes on our route. There is one stop that I am unsure of when we are in Utah. It's a Maverik gas station. I have seen where some Maverik gas stations have dedicated RV lanes. It's unclear if this particular gas station has RV lanes or if it's just big rig lanes. Anyone been to this station at 265 E Center St, Monticello, UT 84535? Thanks.

I tried the google map idea of looking at stations from above and had a couple picked out. According to Waze my trip was about 430 miles. According to my truck's computer, my fuel range was about 400. So I figured we'd go about 150 miles and then start looking to top off. We pulled off I-10 and all the stations were jammed with cars and trucks (this was Sunday morning around 10AM). So I moved on to a second and then 3rd choice. I found an exit with a dumpy looking Mobile trucker's restaurant and yard out back. the outside lane was the easiest fuel island with diesel. Had to wait for some guy who decided he'd leave his truck at the diesel pump while he bought some moon pies. He seemed annoyed I was waiting behind his truck and took off in a diesel delete puff of black smoke. On the way back, I found a good place near the I-10/I-75 intersection where there were 2 or 3 exits in a row that are RV friendly. Price was sort of inconsequential and I think I paid $3.30 or so per gallon which is not too far out of line.

Zoom in to max. drag yellow man into street and release.(now you are viewing street-level) Then you see all are automobile lanes, but if you can enter from either entrance the extreme left end has plenty of room for a MH + towed to refuel then exit the other end of the lot.

I joined the EFS fleet fuel discount program so now stick to the truck stops. What a relief. With the toad we're over 50 feet long and the gas buddy solution was tough sometimes. Plus I can pump 100gal. in a few minutes at the truck island.

Thanks. I did look at street view. Tried zooming in to determine if the island on the far left had both diesel and regular gas. I originally mapped this trip out about two years ago. I think at the time I assumed the separate pumps on the left had both diesel and regular gas. There is a Maveriks in Page AZ that has a similar setup but they also have signs that say "RV lanes." Based on what I have seen for this trip... not all Maveriks are equal.

I'll either do like you suggested or stop before I get to this location. I found a Marathon on 491 that is quite large. It's just not as close to our destination.
