Lexan\White Oak Lock

I used a piece of 1/4inch lexan to create my lock. On my 1st trip it wasn't strong enough to hold freezer door on a hard turn so I glued a piece of very stiff white oak to the extension piece. Works great!

I ordered from Fridge fixer. I think he is an rv'er on this forum. Came up with a great device.

A large wooden T will cost a couple dollars instead of $70.

I made one for Samsung out of tin. The design was similar to the Fridge Fixer. Basically, you take a "U" shape piece of tin that fits over the bottom edge of the upper doors. Rivet a flat piece to the front of the "U" shaped piece so that while the "U" shaped piece is slipped up under the upper doors, the flat piece covers the freezer door. When you slide the assembly over the two front doors, the two front doors can't open. Since they can't open, the piece hanging down over the freezer door won't allow the freezer door to open. Simply slide the device to the side, just over one door, and remove the device.

Here is a photo....it's taken from one side, but the device is about 5" wide when you look at it from the front. I added the knob for easy grabbing. I covered the tin with Gorilla tap to prevent scratching and lined the pieces that catch the doors with the soft side of Velcro.

These work well

Try one of these. Have them on our French door fridge.

The first trip on a previous 5'er with the samsung 3 door, I asked my wife why'd she put the sliced ham and quart of milk in the freezer ?!?

Only thing we could figure, is that on a left turn the bottom drawer slid out and 'caught' the stuff that fell when the doors flung open !!! then the doors closed on the next turn

The T idea was what I used from then on !
the top of the T goes between the two top handles and the bottom of the T goes behind the freezer drawer handle...

Mama was worried about scuffs on fridge so put some thin cusioning on the back of the T...

This is the best fix around. Purely passive. You don't need to think about securing the door. Just close and forget.

I did the same thing Mike. If you can remember to shut the door, you're done. You don't even see the latches.
