Front suspension air bags?

Thanks to those who responded to my last post! But I had it backwards. So heres the deal, bought a A-class ACE 30.1, there are double donut shaped air bags under the frt. Suspenion. My question is why are they there? The unit is used, after market setup , toggle on dash and a compresdor under hood. Us it for a better ride? Ect. Drives great!

lowers it down for easier entry when you let the air out perhaps?

This is not a diesel coach so the airbags are after market addition to help with steering or loading capabilities. I had them once on an old class A and I don't think they did anything except raise and lower the front end.

Doubt there is a loading issue on the front end of an A.C.E. 30.1, so airbags for overload is probably not the reason...

...But, there is a mentality that airbags on a leaf spring suspension can improve the ride on rough terrain/roads.

The idea is called airbag assist. It works similarly to Sumo Springs - by having the last several hundreds of pounds of load supported by the airbags as the bags are inflated and lift weight off the leaf springs.
-Since airbags are generally more compliant than leaf springs, the airbags are believed to absorb the lessor bumps in the road in a softer fashion compared to just leaf springs.

And, if the bag assemblies look like this, then it IS a significant suspension upgrade according to Kelderman:

Hope that helps.

I think your dead on, because we drove an exact other RV without and the steering wheel had a steady vibration at hiway speeds.
