I got $.15 off a gallon at Loves in Ft. Myers the other day. Much less than in the past.

I signed up for the TSD card a couple of months ago. I was hesitant to sign up because of all the information they requested (SSN, bank account information, etc.), but I did. I received the card and have used it twice. It does what they claim it does and provides a significant discount, depending on which fuel chain you use it at. The charges are charged directly to the bank account you provided within a few days, not at the end of the month, and all of the billing information is available via their app. The app provides the location (map) of all the stations you can use. The card usage procedure is a little complicated to use initially, but after you've done it a few times there is nothing to it. It works, I use it and I would recommend it.

It is $2.00 more per gallon than last year at this time.
That equates to $300 more for a 1,000 mile trip at 6.5 mpg.
It stinks, but I would not stay at home over it.

We're going to reach a tipping point where EVs become more convenient and ICE vehicles less so once more of the charging network is built out.
This is happening worldwide, and blaming anyone in the US for it is misguided. Across the entire planet there is a growing move towards electric vehicles, and since oil companies are built to make profit, not oil, they'll do what serves that purpose.
This is kind of like the VHS industry once DVDs came around. There was a sharp decline in the number of companies producing VHS equipment and in the number of studies producing VHS tapes. It doesn't make sense to continue investing in an old technology once the new one gains acceptance. Same for EVs.
The next few years will see a swift transition, for sure, and one which will be turbulent for drivers.

Here’s an interesting quote in article about all the huge loss Ford just reported due to investment in Rivian.
“However, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe recently suggested that the supply chain for EV batteries is still far behind where it needs to be to achieve many of the goals pushed by Western governments, the WSJ reported. “Put very simply, all the world’s cell production combined represents well under 10% of what we will need in 10 years,” Scaringe said last week. “Meaning, 90% to 95% of the supply chain does not exist.”

If true, this certainly points out one of the reasons why things will be turbulent.
Imagine how much more quickly the transition could be happening if companies dedicated to preserving the old technology got on board with the new technology and research for what comes next?
