You are dealing with people who know the problem (BIG EVIIIIIIIILLLLL OIL) and no amount of facts, logic or common sense will change their minds. I am totally amazed that even some trained economists do not understand- OR, is it their underlying agenda??? Hmmmm?

Paul,

I certainly agree with you there!!! Between BP and GE I would think the average citizen would wake up and realize that there is a game going on at our expense. We ought to set fire to the current tax code and go to a simple graduated flat tax with NO (yes I said NO) deductions (I own a home & RV, have 5 kids, and give money to charity) to take the pay backs and back room deals out of the hands of the most corrupt group of thieves & cheats in the country (70% of our "Representatives" in Washington). The free market worked wonderfully for over a hundred years and the more the government gets involved with the economy the worse it gets.

If we would stop paying people to grow this crop or that or worse not to farm at all while printing money which is a tax no one votes on because it makes the dollars we already have worth less.......

Don't get me started!!!! I could go on and on but I don't have an Ivy League education so I am ignorant and need to be cared for. I am just a high school dropout who worked his butt off for 35 years to take care of my family with no help from the government at all. NOW.... I am soon to be considered RICH and my taxes may soon go up because only 52% of the income in the country is from the private sector the rest is handed out by our imperious government.........

See it is not good to get me started

Drill baby Drill. We have a lot of oil. that is a fact. But until we start REALLY going after it, the rest of the world is going to screw us over. Alt. energy is great but until someone finds something that will work we need oil. You really don't think we can put elec. engines in motorhomes and start for calif. do you? If we switch over to elec. cars, The same people who hate oil will stop us from building power plants. So how do we charge up the batteries?

What makes anyone think that if we "drill baby drill" here that the oil will stay here? Currently the oil that's drilled here is sold to the highest bidder on the world market. Don't get me wrong, I wish it would be for us exclusively.

Where did you get these figures on taxes? I am sorry, but the top wage earners pay almost all the income taxes. The bottom half of wage earners don't even pay income taxes.

You really need to get a different tax preparer for your taxes.
Your present one is charging you way to much. Under 50K should be from 10-14% with using a standard deduction.

Try Turbo tax on line.

A Taxable 107K with standard deduction is 20.10% for 2010.
That is more then 15%

I have been checking Diesel prices at 9 different stations on MSN that I will use this summer.
Since 4/11 to 4/29 average price has dropped 8¢ at them.
