Gas Smell Inside Coach

Hello, I am new to the site. And need some advice. I been smelling gas around the outside of the coach but no visible sign of a leak. Today we pulled into the park leveled the coach and the gas order was very strong, and fumes entered the coach. I turned off all power and opened the windows which helped. I looked at the fuel tank and lines and found no leaks. I figured maybe it was the vent, but the smell has not gone away. Perhaps the leak in on top of the tank ? One fellow camper suggested the fuel line to the generator from the tank RV is a 2006 Georgie Boy 27 on Work Horse chassis. Any way to check this without having to drop the tank> Any suggestions will be helpful we are 1800 miles from home.
Much Appreciated

On my '04 pace Arrow, there is a bit of room between the top of the tank and the floor. Enough to use a flashlight and a mirror to see the top of the pump and the lines coming out. You need to chase the fuel line all the way up to the fuel rail atop the engine. Especially the flex line that connects to the fuel rail.
Gonna take some crawling around , but smelling gas is not good.

It's fairly common for a stove or oven knob to get accidentally turned on.

I would guess that if you are smelling gas in the coach it most likely is coming from the engine compartment. Pull the engine cover and see if the fuel regulator is leaking, I'm not sure if yours has the regulator on the engine or in the tank. someone else will chime in I'm sure.

Loose coupling

After 15 years I noticed a persistent faint fuel smell that was strongest near the rear wheels of my 2005 Workhorse W20. None of the fuel filter fittings showed any signs of a current or past leak. So I traced the fuel line forward from the filter and found that there was a coupling in the fuel line (about 3 feet in front of the driver's side rear tire) and one end of the coupling required more than a half turn before it snugged up. Tightening that fitting cured the problem.

My Workhorse chassis had the same symptom. The problem was the vent hose that connects the tank to the gasoline fill pipe had developed a crack. I replace the line and NOT MORE SMELL!

First, do NOT attempt to add extra after pump shutoff during fill-up, or you can liquid flood the charcoal vapor canister, AND ruin ITS FUNCTION. 2) Allow all to cool well before crawling under, as fire hazard is VERY REAL HIGH RISK. IF you cannot find any issue, consider a MOBILE MECHANIC?

A electronic gas leak detector with very high adjustable sensitivity could help sniff it out. Made for LP or Nat. gas can still sniff out hydrocarbon fumes . If repairing or testing a Nat gas leak or new piping, adjustment turned way up will alert on the tiny amount of mineral spirits in pipe dope that I can't smell with nose in the can and didn't think was in it. Now I know lol

Since you're getting responses for both, please tell us if you are smelling gasoline or propane. (I read it as a gasoline smell but some others clearly do not.)
