Gelcoat polish

I have a 2018 Minnie Winnie. I find it impossible to keep the front cap shinning. I have used several different cleaners and polishes with very little sauce. Need some new ideas on what to use. Have considered Zep flor wax but really don't want to use it.

Have you waxed it after polishing? The finish on mine will oxidize quickly if I don’t. I use some Mother’s marine/RV stuff.

Do not use ZEP. I have used the wash with the ceramic in it with success. Lasting longer than wax and much easier.

Gelcoat issue

There was a problem with the gelcoat on the caps of Minnie Winnie and others. I have been fighting with it for years. Tried waxes, polishes, ceramics etc. After a few months they all fade out. I currently have Maguire's #56 pure carnuba wax on it, which looks good after a month. I have been told (unverified second hand info) that people who have asked for help from WB are told they will split the cost of painting it, but he said they said his half was almost $3000. Little too rich for my blood, so I keep after it with wax. FYI I have a 2018 MW 26A. (Love it!) Gary

If $ no real block, you could paint the gelcoat cap, and have it clear coated (or just clear coated?). That should last many years and a wash would all that is needed.

For my MH front cap and my boat, I use 3M boat polishing compound, then the new ceramic finishing spray.

If it's paint use car wax, it breathes. If it's gel coat use boat wax. It seals. Gel coat oxidizes if exposed to air.

Don't use ZEP. Others say it works great but I tried it once on a roof and it was a failure. Looked great for a week and after that it was a peeling mess.

Never ending battle. Ours is a 2017. Started fading after year one, even with constant professional attention, cleaning, buffing, waxing, and maintenance. I gave up. Last year I used a product called 'Shine On', which at least made it presentable for now.
We have friends with a 2018. They complained continuously to Winnebago, and have just had theirs repainted for the SECOND time. Doesn't really look that great and they are not expecting it to last very long.
We do love our motorhome, but shame on Winnebago for the lack of quality of paint and workmanship on the front cap.
