I will condense this as best I can. Last November, on the day we were travelling to storage facility, after dumping stabilizer, I went to start the Generator to get stabilizer in system... no power, no fuel pump action, nothing, and when I went to check fuse, the fuse cap was broke off due to deterioration. It was cold, we needed to get moving, so I never attempted a repair.
Forward to today. Purchased a new thru panel fuse carrier, and while I was removing the old one, (it was severely loose), pulling off one of the connectors, it touched metal and sparked strongly. Since everything was off, I couldn't figure that out. Double checked, and I hadn't shut the power off to house battery! Went back and carried on, but if either contact touched the framework, there was a gentle spark again.
It was a tough job getting the holder in place with the lock nut behind and getting the 2nd connector attached because of all the other wires from the loom in that area. But, finally, got it together/connected, tightened in and happy to report, the fuel pump activated, and the unit turned over to start, but it kept dying out promptly. I knew I was on the edge for gas tank level, so filled up with gas, returned home, primed the unit and happy to say, it fired right up. Let it run for about 5-10 minutes, no load, then went to turn it off from the remote start inside, and it would not shut it off, hmmm, went to the unit and the off switch would not shut it off there either. Uh Oh. Weirdly, in about another ten minutes, it stopped on its own. I decided to start it again after a bit, fired right up, and I pulled the fuse out hoping that would have an effect, did not, and once again, after a while, it just died out. I am a little worried about any subsequent start ups, as maybe my luck will run out on it shutting down.
Screaming out for help, any thoughts???
