I was going to suggest that they only needed a weight ticket, just put the rear on the scale. It appears that accuracy isn't the goal, just the paperwork.

OH boy, maybe I won't change domicile to TX. Her in WA it costs me about $130 per year for tags on my 46,700# empty weight rig. In TX that would be $530 plud having to upgrade my drivers license.

I bought my coach out of state and had no issues registering it in Texas without having it weighed.

Maybe I missed something but I was under the impression the Texas Fee Chart is referring to the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) which is determined by the manufacturer and not something you get from a scale.

Did the original title have a weight value on it? We bought our coach in Oklahoma. There wasn't a weight on the title so they required us to get a weight.

That's correct.

I'm not sure, but the weight on my Texas title is the combined max load limit of the front and rear axle, 32,500 lbs. My credit union handled the title transfer, we never went to the DMV.

Hey Mr D, in 1999 I paid over $650 dollars to register my new Suburban. I pay less in Texas for my coach
Give Washington state time, you will have higher vehicle licenses again. I know you fuel is going up thanks to your governor. "Carbon Tax" is what he is calling it. Y'all have pretty expensive fuel now
So glad I left that state behind, despite being a native

Well, just for comparison - we recently renewed the registration for our 2006 Winnebago 29R. It is built on a Ford F-53 18K GVWR chassis. The cost was $140 for the sticker, and $7-ish for the inspection.

When coming into Texas, some titles will have the weight noted on them--those that don't will require a weight slip from a certified scales.
Incidentally, my 14500 GVW '10 450 came with a KS title (used) and it showed a weight of 7400lbs. Still wasn't a problem getting the truck registered.
