Welcome to the boards!! Given a little more time, I could probably give you a better answer, but Cummins Atlantic off of New Hope @ US64 is the Onan shop. Take a few minutes and fill out your profile and signature and that will give us a little more info. Post back and be more specific about your generator problem, or better yet, start a new posting and specify which generator and very short problem in title and then be as specific and long winded as needed in the posting and somebody or three will have already had that problem and a resolution. Tell us part of Raleigh are you in and later tonight I can try to help you find more resources.

Thanks for the referral . This is my first motor home. It,s an 04 Coachmen Concord that has not been used in about of year. Wanted to find someone to just give it a good once over. Generator is a Genset 4KY. It is in such a small space I can,t even get to the spark plug to see if it's fouled. Doesn't seem like you can work on it without dropping it out. Haven,t had time to get the error code of the start switch. Pretty sure it's a fuel carberation problem.
Downloaded the repair manual. How tough is it to drop out?

I don't know (yet) how hard it is to drop out. Yours is probably the same as mine, a QC4000 is probably the new name. There are a some trouble shooting tips that can be gone thru and my favorite for a fuel starvation issue is using ether (very small amount and very carefully). I would suggest maybe trying to supply fuel from a second source (external) and see if that helps. If so, add a generous amount of Sea Foam to the fuel and run for a few minutes, and then again every few hours for a bit. It may just be a little varnish. Also, if your chassis fuel tank is low, it may be a total lack of fuel as the fuel feed for the generator is at around 1/4 tank.

Also, are you priming it by holding the button in the off position? I know this may sound stoopid but I have no idea how much experience you have with them or what you have and haven't tried. Also check the oil. The generator manuals are available on line to download and print if you want them.

Tried priming twice for 30 seconds each. No go. 3/4 tank of fuel. Will try your suggestion on starter fluid as soon as temps get below 95 degrees and 90 % humidity. Bitch working outside right now. Please send me and further thoughts. Found unit weight. 175 lbs.

Lets see how this goes. The more I think about it through, the ether right now now may turn into a "hey yall, hold my beer and watch this" moment.

Moe...... call Frank's RV Repair at (919) 359-8456. He's in Clayton on Business 70, just south of where bus70 crosses the Clayton bypass. His shop shows on Google Maps.
Frank and his guys there are both honest and competent. Frank was a great help checking units for us when we were shopping six years ago, and has performed a number of repairs for me over the years. To be honest, I think he tends to focus more on the RV box than the chassis and engine, but if he can't help you directly he can likely point you in the right direction.

I found a shop in Zebulon who does RV body work. If you want, I can go by and see if he has any recommendations, or I may go by and see before I need somebody...

Can't have to many recommendations. Yes can I get his number and address. Sure would be nice to find someone under $100.00 per hour.

Frank's RV Repair
5244 US 70 Business West
Clayton, NC 27520
919-723-6033
919-359-8456
They have done repairs on my 5th Wheel several time and I have been very satisfied. They work on all types of RVs. The last time was an insurance claim with Nationwide and the adjustor comment how reasonable the estimate was. They came in at the estimate so it was not a bate and switch. You talk to the owners when you take it in and they are very knowledgable. They put in a 5th wheel hitch on my truck after accident repair and did it right compared to the place I bought my 5th wheel. My neighbor uses Bill Plemmons on US 64 and New Hope Road.
