I have used the tape on my previous MH and this one and haven't had any issues. I also put some clear silicone on both ends of the lights to keep them water proof.

Thanks Joe, I found DC power and am using that. Did you use the double sided tape your LED lights came with or did you use something else. There is a 3M product on the market that is suppose to be better than the OEM stuff many of the LED light strips come with.

I just used the built-in tape and attached them under the awning. Drilled a small hole into the frig chimney from the outside and installed a switch inside and powered from an aux 12 volt fuse panel I had installed in the basement for various mods. Silconed the penetration hole. Everything has worked well for a couple of years now. Used more of the LED tape in the various basement areas connected to the regular basement light fixtures. That really has made a huge difference in seeing stuff in those spaces.
