I have used the tape on my previous MH and this one and haven't had any issues. I also put some clear silicone on both ends of the lights to keep them water proof.

Thanks Joe, I found DC power and am using that. Did you use the double sided tape your LED lights came with or did you use something else. There is a 3M product on the market that is suppose to be better than the OEM stuff many of the LED light strips come with.

I just used the built-in tape and attached them under the awning. Drilled a small hole into the frig chimney from the outside and installed a switch inside and powered from an aux 12 volt fuse panel I had installed in the basement for various mods. Silconed the penetration hole. Everything has worked well for a couple of years now. Used more of the LED tape in the various basement areas connected to the regular basement light fixtures. That really has made a huge difference in seeing stuff in those spaces.

Tim, look at the bottom of the last paragraph in my post #1.

Thanks Joe, I missed that. I'll pick up some next time I'm at Walmart.

A question about "white" color

Joe-

A beautiful job on your coach lighting. Just to clarify, your coach light strips can not display "white" lighting? I thought that was not possible with the RGB strips? I did a similar installation, but used the RGBW lights and a different controller.

Can you please verify that to switch to white lighting, it needs RGBW as opposed to RGB?

The problem with my previous strip light mod is that it works with the PHILLIPS HUE lighting system, but does not have a hand-held remote control .... so obviously my invention won't work in our Coach.

Thanks. Your clarification is appreciated.

I'm not sure about the designations, but mine does display white light!

Good job! In the last few months I have been educating myself in led striplights. It can be a bit tedious working with them, but worth it. I re-wired a rod iron palm tree with IP67 water resistant RGB lights. The DW loves it! I also replaced the all white strip lights on the front of our 2014 Itasca Meridian. They work great now.
