Guidance Sought for Window Leakage Repair

On a recent outing we encountered some rain while we were in a campground. It was not a particularly heavy rain but we noticed some significant leakage at the top of the window in front of the kitchen sink. This window is a crank-out the hinges at the top. I have not yet cranked open the window and got on a ladder to inspect access to the top of the window frame. I have had some discussion about applying a bead of silicon sealant to any areas where the existing sealant appears to have lost its integrity.
Questions that come to mind are as follows:
Is silicon sealant the proper sealant for this task?
Is it likely that I will need to remove any existing sealant? This is on a 2016 Thor Tuscany XTE. Any guidance from an experienced hand would be greatly appreciated.

Never use silicone. If it ever has to be done again it will never seal as silicone will not stick to where silicone was.

As for windows they are often sealed with butyl tape but the window has to come apart to replace it. Rather than taking the window apart you can use a sealant around the edges called Geocel ProFlex. It gets applied with a calking gun then use your finger dipped in soapy water to smooth it out.

If you could post a close up of your windows we could tell how its sealed now and what step to take next.

If it’s only two years old and it’s leaking I suspect it wasn’t installed correctly. I would remove and reseal it.
