Haldex part # 48100225

Last week was traveling east on 17 about 7 miles from the turn to Editiso beach when we suddenly exexperienced a loud sound in the rear of the coach. Was traveling at 60 and slowed to 20 before the sound reduced to a reasonable level. Was certain we experienced a rear flat. Finally found a place to get on the side of the road. Walked back and the problem was apparent, the coach had no air suspension and was on the frame. Airbags looked fine but I saw the height control linkage arm hanging down.

Roadside assistance contacted trying to get a mobile mechanic. One hour later I also try finding one without success. Best I could find was maybe some time tomorrow. Roadside assistance called and said they were still looking for someone. Standing by the coach and considering options I remembered several years ago I read about a guy that had the same problem and he recommended buying this part. Was not certain if I followed his advice. So I dug out my "breakdown box" and found the repair kit that I purchased years ago. I would never do this at home as I have jack stands but I put the jacks down crawled under and fixed it. Worst part was how bad it rocked when the trucks went by. So my thanks to whoever made the post years ago. This kit is only about $25 and I will be ordering another. If you do an internet search you can see the parts in the kit, it is the small rubber end that fails, easy fix. Would have been sitting for at least 24 hours without it.

I have posted also about carrying a spare height valve and linkage arm. It could turn being stranded into a 15 minute fix. Technically not on the frame inside air bags a rubber bumpers it bottoms out on.

Had the same problem this past summer. Rubber boot broke. I replaced mine with the following. Thought it was better designed and less of a chance of breaking again.
