There are several different manufacturers of cleaning kits. I used the

Meguires

https://www.ebay.com/itm/12419527933...53.m2749.l2649
It did a pretty good job but I have nothing to compare it to.

I bought and used this Cerakote headlight restore kit. It's about a four step process, but it's the best $17 I've spent. It cleared our cloudy headlights up to where they looked new.

Yes, plenty of kits, but they will only last a few months unless you remove them, sand them down and have them recleared.
If I was you, figure out what manuf of headlights you have, I think they used F150 headlight assemblies for a while, and replace them with newer ones that have a projector style lamp assembly for the low beams. Then you can install LEDs in those and have really good headlights wi th out blinding oncoming traffic!

I polished a HL off my DD. Looked new when done, but only lasted a few months before it was yellowing again. The sanding and polishing removes the protective coating. I have a dull HL on my RV and have been looking online for replacements. They are cheap for both sides and will go that route. Just not sure how well aftermarket units will last.

Check with a local competent body shop. If you remove them they can buff them out then clear coat them for you. This will make them stay clear for a long time

The 3M Heavy Duty kit works really great. Did 4 headlight assemblies with one kit.
I use Meguiar's ScratchX to clean them up every few months. Takes 5 minutes.

Here's some added info on the Cerakote kit. Not only does it have the materials to sand and clean the headlamp assembly, it also contains saturated pads to re-coat the plastic. Mine has been done for over a year with no signs of yellowing like before.

I used a product called "Flitz" and a small power ball. Fast and easy and after the polish, a coat of clear coat

I use wet /dry sandpaper with water. If really bad, start with 600 grit, then 1000, then 1500. Then rubbing compound on a wheel. then polish. After that optionally degrease and shoot with some clear paint for plastic for adding UV protection. Or just polish them when waxing the vehicle.

$130 for 2 new (aftermarket) headlight assemblies makes the effort to sand, polish, and reclear not worth the hassle, especially when I factor in the kit cost to DIY.

With that said, has anyone installed the aftermarket assemblies and have an opinion on the longevity of the lens before yellowing? Im thinking they would at least last as long as I have this RV.
