Has anyone actually used a set of the Henderson Motion Control Units on a late model Freightliner Chassis. They are supposed to eliminate side-to-side sway amd bounce, but how much. A set for front and back runs about $400 plus installation if not done by the customer. The air lines are cut at each air bag and these are installed with a push-in connector. Both Front ones and the passenger rear look fairly easy to reach but that left rear really looks hairy with all the other lines, the differential is offset to that side, and the air dryer is right there too.

We have found that on the Freightliner chassis with bistein shocks that the ride becomes too ridged.When I worked at Henderson's we did extensive testing with different valve ratio's & the only way to make a good ride was to install Koni shocks.Hope this help's

Thanks Mike. If I remember right my XC 2004 Freightliner chassis has Sachs shocks. Don' know how these compare with Konis. I'm not really familiar with these - usually have used either Monroe or Bilstein shocks.

If you have a porpoising or sway problem koni's will take most of that out.Koni's are found on large air suspension buses like Prevost & Newell.They have a soft down stroke & controlled upstroke,thus giving you a nice air suspension ride,but also making it handle nicely.

Thanks for all the good info Mike. Are you saying the best thing to do first would be to change the shocks to Konis instead of adding the Motion Control units on the Freightliner Chassis? Will the Motion Conrrol units be necessary after changing shocks? Its great to have someone available with your knowledge, these changes are expensive if they don't help and if we have to arrive at our own experience. Thanks again.

Yes in my opinion the most Bang for the Buck is to install the Koni's.These will give you a superior ride as well as great handling.

I only have 2500 miles on my coach so the shocks should be basically new, so would the MCU's be the best solution until the shocks wear out.

I don't have MCU's but I did change my shocks on my 2014 chassis, Made a big difference for me.

Chris, Several years ago one of the mechanics at your facility installed the motion control air flow restriction valves on my Winnebago, Freightliner XC chassis. It took longer to bleed the air out of the system and air back up than it did for him to get underneath and install all four valves. They made a world of difference in handling on our unit - side to side sway, Wal*Mart wobble, strong cross winds and push from the air flow large rigs passing us.

I know Brazels is pushing Koni shocks but I had the SPD version on my coach and after 25,000 miles, they were no better than those I took off.
Maybe on lighter coaches, they might be fine but on a heavy coach they suck. I went with Road King and am very happy

I wonder that if you took a one way check valve and drilled a small hole some where in it to bypass the check valve so you could bleed down the airbag.
Airbag bleed down would be slow but the check valve keep the airbag from passing the air so rapidly thus increasing the handling in turns. Maybe a hole about .030? Any ideas?

Years ago, at a rally, I had Hendersons install both Koni FSD shocks and the MCU's on my 2005 XC chassis MH. Dramatic improvement in ride and almost complete elimination of the severe side to side sway previously experienced when going over any bump off camber.

About a year later I ordered another Hendersons product, the SS100 steering bellcrank, and installed it myself. It replaces the XC chassis oem bellcrank and takes a lot of the slop out of the steering.
Still driving that rig and still happy with everything from Hendersons.
