Ifbanyone wants to copy my design here is how I made them.

used some wood I had around and didn't experiment at all but it seems like a good size. The bottom is a tad over 2.5 inches and it's made from 8/4 wood so just under 2 inches high. I used this for felt https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0816...b_b_prod_image

It was all done on the table saw. Started with the slot from the center cutting both directions and then moved the fence out to expand the slot again from both directions to keep it centered. I had to get the width to accommodate the tops plus the felt, the width is important otherwise it will be too tight or too loose and flop over a bit and be less stable.

For the bevel you want to set the width so you don't remove anything off the bottom ( which will be facing up). I did this by first not cutting enough off and working my way to the edge. Then flip it over and do the other bevel.

We have bunk beds so they go under the mattress. Nice idea though.
