House Batteries for a Mirada

Does anyone know what kind of House batteries you need for a 2017 Coachmen Mirada 34bh? And where is the best place to buy them?

Trojan 6V golf cart batteries are what we used to replace ours. About $125. Each.

Vehicle engine start batteries are often specific to make and model. House batteries are not. What ever deep draw batteries will fit the space will work.

For me, the more amp hours of battery the better. If you always camp with shore power, it does not matter much. Many people recommend flooded cell 6 volt gulf cart batteries as the most cost effective. You can install 2 to make a 12 volt battery bank, but not 1 or 3.

If you have space for 1 or 3 batteries, you can use 12 volt batteries. Cost difference is minor. Special sale prices matter more than total cost over life of the batteries.

AGM batteries are more expensive. They are cleaner because they do not emit hydrogen gas while charging and thus do not spit acid spray or vapors. AGM batteries are more resistant to deep draw situations. However, they are sensitive to overcharging.

AGM batteries can offgas if charged too fast or over charged. They’re valve regulated in order to release the excess hydrogen gas.

To the Op:
Unless you want to change the cabling or need additional capacity, the simplest route is to look at the batteries you currently have and replace them with the same configuration. For example if you have two 12 volt 100 amp hour deep cycle batteries, replace them with the same. If you have room, you could replace the two 12 volt batteries with four 6 volt batteries wired in series/parallel, but again that would require changing the cable configuration.
Costco, Sams Club, Walmart are good for inexpensive flooded or AGM deep cycle batteries.

A pair of 6V golf cart battys are a great choice if space is adequate. For the capacity they are reasonable cost as they are a high volume item and a better deep cycle batty than many so called marine/RV battys.

I buy mine at Sams Club (Duracell made by East Penn) but you might also try a gold cart dealer if you have one in your area. They handle many and sometimes very reasonably priced.
If you aren't faithful about maintaining a flooded batty AGM can be a good choice but cost is roughly 2X $ of flooded but no maintenance, no corrosion in batty compartment and they do well in deep cycle use.
