How do I remove wax from the entry steps?
The detailer who washed and waxed our motor home spilled Meguiars synthetic wax on our entry steps and it has left white residue spots in the black tread. I have tried to remove with a scrub brush and dishwashing soap to no avail. Any suggestions?
And, I won't be using that detailer again.

Getting wax on plastic or rubber is always a problem. It normally stains the rubber. I was going to suggest dish soap, but you already tried that.
I found this on the internet https://www.carwashcountry.com/how-t...-plastic-trim/

Good luck

Go to a body/paint supply shop and get some Wax & Grease remover.

I've had good success with full strength "Simple Green" and a brush stiff enough to get into the crevices on wax that gets onto plastic trim and rubber. Just protect your waxed surfaces as it will strip it in a heartbeat. Windshield washer fluid and a brush also work well. May be the glycerin in the washer fluid that makes it effective.
Let us know what ultimately works. Curious minds want to know!

Will a Power wash at a commercial shop do it ?
There's a self service car wash near me that I usually take the coach to after a trip to clean the front since the back usually doesn't need a full wash...
It has enough reach of the pressure washer hose so that I can pull up close to clean it.

If the steps are powder coated and not painted, Acetone will remove the wax residue. Don't use it on paint as it can remove it.

I think I would try some vinegar in a small unobtrusive spot first. Then if it works go for it. If not you are only out a bit of time and money.

One of the best wax-strippers around is household ammonia, available in grocery or home stores. Rubbing alcohol is pretty good too, but evaporates fast. Mineral spirits is another effective was remover that won't hurt paint or materials.

Charcoal or zippo fluid is about same as mineral spirits if you have any. Goo gone, or 50% pinesol and hot water.

10-4 on ammonia! I have also used Turpentine since it is not petroleum-based.
