You can do well with a small humidifier. They start around $39 and go into the hundreds. This link shows one we use for a very dry room.

Use a window mounted swamp cooler. That will boost your humidity to 50% percent in less than 1 hour.

I didn't make clear that I'm talking about this winter near Quartzsite, AZ. We will be here for 6 months. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have bought the smallest humidifier I could find and will try it for a while. Thanks, Max.
