If they can supply you with the correct strut the first time this may save you some money. Too soft a strut and the door won't stay open. Too firm a strut and you may bend a hinge or have difficulty closing the door.

Thanks. Good advice.

Thanks, you solved a portion of the riddle......80 lbs.

I first googled the brand from the existing gas strut and than went to Amazon for the replacement... I actually ordered new struts that had 10 lbs more lift per strut so that the strut would easily lift the large compartment door.. and it took just a little more pressure to push it closed..
This is for the inside compartment door that I needed - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And this is for the lower compartment door - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Note that the second number has a pressure rating of 80 lbs... they worked my large compartment door easily...
Hope this helps...
Thanks but this strut is for my side entry door.

Research says these are replacements for a Master Lift ML16-15 strut:

https://www.maxumhardware.com/catalo...roducts_id=446
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2ea-17-15-N...-/382314272879

If you are able to up the force to 20 pounds, these should do:

https://www.futuresalesrv.com//index...product_id=145
https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-C16-1.../dp/B01G67QFC2

I have bought struts from Future Sales (one of the links above). I have also bought from RVUugrades.com; they do not appear to carry a 17"x15-pound (or 20-pound) strut.

Basic specs for Master Lift ML16-15 (part number 7627Q)
Extended length: 17.2 inches
Force: 15 pounds

Interesting that the RVdesigner.com sizing chart (link here) says that entry doors use a 10-pound strut, which they carry in only the 20-in length.

Please confirm this for yourself. My research could be incorrect.
You seem to have broken the code on the side of the strut! Thanks for that!

Thanks! Will check that out.

Also just one point of caution. Removing the spring steel clip, you will see a indentation for a small flat blade screwdriver to pry the clip back. Do not remove the clip, move it just enough to release the ball stud. They can be a pain in the you know what to get back on if removed completely, I know first hand.

Cool thanks. I'm not sure what you're talking about (yet) but I'll make sure not to remove a clip if I see one.

When attempting to move the spring clip I would recommend wearing safety glasses. These clips can fly off and hit you if you're not real careful.
Once you get the ball studs off the old strut install them back onto the door and frame. The new struts will snap back onto the ball studs with the spring clip in place. No need to remove the spring clips from the new struts. While you are at it a dab of grease on the stud ball will prevent binding and possible squeaks when opening and closing the door.

I did a lot of research to find Suspa brand cylinders are supposed to have superior dampening so they don't slam open at end of travel. Purchased from Amazon. Some door cylinders did slam for some people at horizontal mounting in long recent thread. IDK if they have you exact size per power. When you get your new ones they just pop over studs no need to touch new clips just a firm push. I didn't add any lube but you choose I would use silicone brake or just silicone elect.contact grease.Petroleum isn't great for plastic long term.

Measure from center to center of the hole where that pin went with the cylinder open all the way. that should be your size and the pressure for a entry door is 10 lbs. I found one on amazon for my Pace Arrow it was 17" by 10 Lbs.

=> very late to the game.
My research is showing that this gas spring is not 80 lb, but 15 lb. 15 lb converts to 80 Newtons (N), which is where the 80 comes from.
