How to reinforce shelves in cupboards and fridge

I know there are spring tension rods out there for your refrigerator and cupboards. Is this the best idea to reinforce fridge and cupboards or are there better cheaper ideas? My concern is things shifting and/or falling in fridge and cupboards while traveling. Thank you.

You must not have your cupboards or refrigerator full enough. Pack more into them.

Seriously, while they are not perfect, we have had pretty good luck with rubber shelf liners in the cupboards. Like some mechanics use in their tool drawers. We havenít had issues with the refrigerator so we donít do anything special for those shelves.

On my frig shelves, on each side of the shelf, I drilled a small pilot hole thru the shelf and into the plastic wall the shelf mounts to. I then screwed a small stainless screw thru the shelf and into the wall.

This prevents the shelves from bouncing out and also adds a little structural integrity to the shelves.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.
