HWH problem

I think I have a problem with a bad solenoid for the left rear on my HWH leveling system. Decided to swap solenoids for left and right rear at pump manifold to prove my theory. pulled solenoid for right rear, no problem. Pulled solenoid for LEFT REAR but it came out with needle only and the the plunger thingy will not budge. Leaves me to believe that it is stuck or fused. Has anyone ever had this problem before, and if so, how do you get the plunger/screen part out.
