Hydraulic fluid check

I am doing maintenance and in trying to check the hydraulic fluid I canít get the dipstick out to check the level. Can someone tell me if it is threaded or do you push down and twist? I have pushed it down and it will go down some but I canít get it to turn. It has a hex shape head on it but I donít want to break it off and have something fall down in the tank.

How to make a signature for your RV so we can serve you better.

1 .Click "User CP" on left side of the screen in about the middle.
2. Click "Edit Signature" on left side 7 bars down under Your Control Panel.
3. Fill out your signature information.
4. Click "Save Signature"

Year, make and model would help....

A picture of cap would also help.

It would still help us help you if you told us here in your posting, or your signature, instead of us trying to keep up with your inventory.

And.....pictures really help to eliminate discrepancies.

We are trying to help.

You might also mention what sort of hydraulic device this may be? Since it's a gas chassis coach I'm guessing it's a hydraulic jack reservoir. Is that right? If yes, the brand name of the jack system would be helpful.

You may be trying to remove vent cap. There is a procedure for having right amount of fluid . Not sure there is a dipstick , I don't have your system but read a lot of post here.
Just off the top of my head it's like put one jack down 6" and jacks down alarm should alarm. Please consult the owners info

Thanks for the replies. I finally got the vent cap/dip stick off. I called azpete and he said there would be a hex nut under the cap and to use a thin wrench to take it loose, however, after I got it off I discovered it was round and not hex. Maybe it had been replaced before.
