I have LCI levelers on a 2006 Damon Challenger. Everything worked great till I took it into Lazy Days in Sefner to have some body work and new tires put on it. when I got home no leveling. The lights on the controller lit but no motor runing. I performed Lippert trouble shooting on their website and it seemed the motor was bad as I wasn't sure what a loud click would sound like. I removed the motor and took it to a shop that worked on DC motors. The tech repaired it, said it was full of rust??

When I re-installed the motor and it still didn't run. Called the tech and he said the problem was the way I was testing it. He said not to use thge relay as described in the Lippert site but to directly connect to the motor/ He was right, motor works fine. Decided that it must be the relay so I bought a new one and installed it tonight. The motor now runs, both to extend and retract, but the levelers don't move. My plan is to manually open the valves and see what happens.

I'd appreciate any help. If any one has worked on these -- Is it possible to install the motor without the motor engaging the hydraulic pump?

The only thing I can think it could be would be a if the shaft of the motor had a key in it and you did not put it back in when you reinstaled it. I have never messed around with the levelers but this might be what happened.

Has anyone with a Power Gear hyd reservoir tank have the bottom rust out? Mind did on a 2003 Fleetwood Excurion with 60,000 miles on it. Do not drive in the winter. Power Gear was no help, but new one was $500.00 plus. Took and put new bottom on can seems to work ok. May have extra resesvoir tank now.

Sounds as though the hydraulic control valves to the jacks are not opening. That would be an electrical problem, since it is all but inconceivable that all 4 valves would fail at the same time.

We have a 2007 Damon Tuscany with a 350 Cat. engine and a LCI Leveling system. We brought the unit directly from the RV dealer to an RV storage shed and since the unit would be sitting for a time we set the system to automatically level the unit. It put the two rear jacks down but not the front jacks. Due to unexpected medical problems, time passed and the batteries went dead because the unit was not plugged in. We connected it to a 50 amp source, charged the batteries, started the engine with the intention of moving the unit but the leveling system will not come on. However, as soon as we turn on the key, all the amber warning lights on the left side of the panel come on even though nothing else on the panel functions. According to the LCI book, the system should automatically retract the jacks if you are in drive with the parking brake off but that does not happen either. We are total novices when it comes to the RV but we are eager and capable of learning with a little help from our friends. We have checked the power unit and it appears there are no broken wires or hoses and the fluid reservior is full. We have read the book cover-to-cover and are considering trying the manual override procedure but don't have a lot of faith that will work either. And even if it dones, then what? Any suggestions for us to follow are recommendation as to who we should contact for service? We live in Georgetown, TX which is 27 miles north of Austin.

Resolved the problem. Apparently when I was installing the pump, after having it repaired, I knocked the coupling loose and didn't notice it lying under the pump. TA problem when working in restricted view areas. The trombetta relay was bad which is why the repaired motor wasn't working. So lightening struck twice, the pump motor and the relay. Lippert Components support was pretty helpful, even with the system being well out of warranty.
