I can't be the only one.

So, my knees are shot. I can bend over long enough to check the air in the tires, but if I crouch down to add air, I have to grab a hold of something to get back up. I have 16" tires. What do you use/recommend?

I kinda like the one with the tractor seat 'cause of the big wheels but the pneumatic one adjusts. The "Z" one converts to a creeper which serves dual purpose.

Gravity is a bitch. I have two approaches that I use for this problem. I have a half-dozen fold-up foot stools (from Camping World) stashed around my rig in the bins and inside also. For my tires, I use TPMS. I can just scan it and decide if any followup is needed at ground level. Saves quite a few bends which are in short supply these days.

I own the “Z” creeper and it is great. There are two spring loaded pins on either side that you pull and then bend it to go from seat to creeper.

Only downside I have found is the wheels. I use it In my garage but even the smallest thing stops the wheels, a flat zip tie on the ground, any rock slightly bigger than a grain of sand... etc.

But really, this is probably true for all of them with similar size/shape wheels.

Hope this helps.

I have the one with the adjustable seat height - I never adjust it.
Any of the ones with small wheels are only good on paved surfaces, and sometimes not even on those if they have rocks/debris on them.
The big wheel tractor seat would be good for the home, but it looks heavy and non-steerable, at least the small wheel models have caster wheels.

Bottom line is; what would work best for YOU.

I recommend installing a TPMS so you can read the psi from the dashboard instead of hands & knees. If your tires and wheels aren't leaky, you probably need to add air only once a season, so you can hire a kid or visit a tire shop. Or suffer through it one time each year (that's what I did).

i put a boat seat cushion in each storage compartment enabling me to kneel on my bad left knee to check air pressure, remove or replace items from storage, etc.

I'm looking for one that's the right height. Too high and it's got to go back.

Thanks for the quick replies!

Great idea Rich! I'll add a couple of those for inside and outside use.

Thanks Gary! That is what I do now. Thankfully, yes, they don't need adjusting too often.

I have the traditional mechanic seat from Harbor Freight and don’t know what I ever did without it.
From checking pressures to cleaning out bays or polishing rims, it is a life saver.

I have the same problem! It ain't fun!

I have a good set of rubber kneepads that I use to air the tires, but they don't help me to get back up!

I doubt that the big wheels swivel, which would be essential for me.

The one with the air in the tires will need to have air pressure checked once in a while too!

Bigger wheels are better tough, so your call.

Happy Glamping.

My neighbor, also an RVer uses one of these, it is comfortable to kneel on and the handle help you to get up.
