Immobilizer Key - 2019 Fleetwood Discovery

My insurance company is giving me a hassle about whether or not my unit comes standard with an immobilizer key from the factory or not. Anyone have a clue? They are claiming my premium will go up if it doesn't come standard with it. I can't seem to be able to confirm anywhere

Are they talking about a chipped key? Anyone that makes keys should be able to tell you.

Ya I think they are asking if it comes standard with an anti-theft device built in the unit and I don't know the answer. If it had an embedded chip in the key then i could claim it has an immobilizer...but don't know 100%

I have a 2019 and I don’t think there’s any chip in the key, not positive. The 2020came with a push button start., so if you don’t have the module with you, you or someone else can’t start it.
Come to think of it, my 2019 can’t be started if I, or someone else doesn’t have the key with them.
Sort of the scenario. I’d claim the discount.

Immobilizer systems have an antenna around the ignition lock cylinder. Not very visible. Keys for immobilizer systems have a chip within the key handle or fob. May not be visible either. There should be a red light on the instrument panel that comes on briefly and goes out once chip key is verified. The light is usually a red dot without any writing. If you have a chassis owner manual, check if the instrument panel info shows the light.

Other than a locksmith seeing the key, you could have a plain metal key copied. If a metal key allows start and run, you do not have an immobilizer.
