Increase A/C Airflow

I have had minimal air flow from the ducts from my A/C since forever. Decided to do some research and opened up the units to see if the baffle was fallen down, blockage, holes and etc. To my surprise the baffles are in place, tape jobs are neat and tidy and a boroscope shows no obstructions.

I came across this, https://koolrv.com/products/a-c-conn...an-mach-series diverter to the ducts and my first thought was a good idea, but I am wondering how much of the gain is lost by increased
static and back pressure and if the duct work and deffuser under the return would cause more restriction than it causes.

FWIW, I just installed two KoolRV "units" in my A/C's a month or two ago. I purchased an anemometer to check the airflow from the registers before and after the install. Airflow increased by about 50%. The noise from the A/C's is also noticeable less.

If you have the tools to look into the last A/C vents on the run themselves, like maybe a mirror, you will probably find that the duct work runs well past the last duct. This means that some of the cool air is not going to work cooling the occupied areas of the rig.
Take some foil sealer tape and close off the duct passed that last ceiling opening on both ends of the run. Doing so, after installing the KoolRV solution, increased the perceptible airflow in my rig. I don't have an anemometer to determine how much the increase was, but it was noticeable.

Never thought of that. Used a boroscope but didn’t go past the last vent. I was very shocked that Fleetwood did a decent job on what I saw looking up in the unit.

I installed the KoolRV mods on both of my ACs last month. Took a trip to Texas and my RV would never get below mid 80’s. That was both ACs running for 1 week solid in mid 90’s. Very disappointed in the $150 spent that will now get tossed in the trash. So I removed them and put back to stock. Just 2 days ago I was working in the RV so fired the gen and AC s up. Started off 105 inside. Less than 30 min was already down to mid 80’s and still dropping before I shut it off
Looking at the kit, the supply hoses and 2 duct adapters are smaller than the factory openings. Too much restriction.
I have read all the reviews and DIY mods all with success. I believe the issue is with Fleetwood design where the duct is running down the center, vs all the others that have the duct running down the sides. With the limited space to work with, the kit is just too small for airflow.
In the positive, it did quiet it down. But I’d rather be cool
