Installing a rear view camera system

I recently bought a Furrion wireless system and it requires access to a 12 volt supply, I was thinking of removing the center clearance light and using that spot for the camera, is this permitted there are 4 other clearance lights. the instruction say to put the camera 2 inches below the center light but that would require another hole to be drilled in the side of the motorhome?

Furrion has some rear view cameras that have an integrated red light to replace a clearance light. If you donít want to drill holes return yours and buy one of those.

Is it that important to have a center light? When I had the safety inspection 2 month's ago one of my front clearance lights was out and I was told it not part of the safety inspection.

Could you just notch the light/lens with dremel to put a couple wires or small cable to camera. Last bit of wire could pretty small .

Most just tap the clearance light wires and run leads out thru the mounting putty; that is what I did, and BEST PRACTICE is camera below the lights to reduce/ prevent lens glare at night. Also BEST is wires long enough to go down Below the camera and then back UP, so that water drips off the wire vs water following wire into splice. Believe MOST cameras polarity sensitive, so verify polarity before connecting. I do NOT recommend removing a light and installing camera there, and most likely hole size/ shape would creat problems anyway?
