Yes and no. Depends on your inverter.
Only the plugs that are on the inverter circuit will be powered via 12v battery power. If your inverter is a combination inverter/charger then when plugged into shore power or are running the generator and AC circuits on the inverter are passed through the inverter to power those circuits and the charger portion charges the batteries.

If you have both a converter & inverter, then the inverter is probably a standalone type and may or may not be integrated with the rest of the coach power system. There has to be some method of swapping the power source for outlets from shore/genset power to inverter, i.e. some sort of switching. To give you a definitive answer, we need to know more about the coach (year/make/model) and what inverter you have. Factory installed inverters usually have a a transfer realy of some sort installed and automatically activated. Aftermarket install maybe not.

You are basically correct as to the functional aspects. But as pointed out, not every circuit may be energized by the inverter.
Most MHs use generator preferentially to shore power. The inverter is designed to use generator or shore power when available. Only when neither is available will it supply the 120vac to the selected circuits.

danford,
While adding your coach info to your profile is a good idea, it's always better if, when you post a question about your coach and or it's operation(s), just throw your coach/make/model/year/engine etc. in with the question. When you do that, folks that are trying to help, don't have to dig around in your profile to find out what they're dealing with so they can try and appropriately answer your issues. I just kind-a do it automatically each and every time I ask for assistance. Just a thought here.

even though 120v power may 'pass-thru' your to your coach, there's really no reason to have your inverter OFF when on Shore Power or the Generator - it serves as your 'backup' power, from the batteries, should you lose the Shore power, or the Generator breaker trips.
