Kohler Generator Problem

I have a 1995 Kohler 7000 Confidant, Model 7CCKM which performs very well with one exception. It has two 30 amp breakers (actually one single throw, double pole) and on occassion it will trip when running both air conditioners, I suspect when both compressors restart simultainously. The only clue in the manual states "will trip when a fault is detectd in AC output circuit". However, I never have a problem when on shore power nor with either of the two individual 20 amp breakers in the AC distribution panel that serves the two air conditioners.
I replaced the breaker thinking that it may be weak but to no avail.
Any clues will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

It sounds like both air conditioners are off the same live leg. Can you measure the amperage off each live leg from the generator with both A/C's running?

Thanks RJay, good suggestion but not the problem. I don't have an amprobe, but pulled the distribution panel cover and verified they are on seperate legs. Also verified there are no leaks to ground on the two hot legs from the breakers on the gen set to the dist. pnl. breakers. I'm beginning to wonder if the breakers on the gen set are getting so warm from ambiate heat that when both compressors start simultainously they simply over heat. This only happens on extremely hot days when I run both airs going down the road -- and then it may or may not happen. It's just a hassle when it does because the only solution is to pull over, go back to the gen. compartment and reset the breakers. I really don't think it's a problem in the air units because I have never had a problem with either one popping it's 20 amp breaker, even when I have accidentally turned one off then back on before the compressor had time to lose pressure.
