Kwikee Step Malfunction
Our 2008 Kwikee step refused to extend. I went through the Owners' Manual and performed the diognstic tests. In doing so, I got the steps to extend and retract by making certain electrical contacts. The manual indicated that this problem indicates a problem in the electronic control box. After replacing it ($150), nothing has changed - It still does not extend and retract automatically, as it should. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if there's any additional info in this pdf but I'll pass it on .
With three fuses, wall and door jam switches and ignition override , don't skip any steps.

The steps are generally grounded to the chassis. This frequently needs cleaning to make a good contact.

Try lubricating all the moving parts on the steps. That usually helps ours. If they get stuck they won’t work.

I unplugged the power plug and carefully twisted the 2 male ends a bit, plugged back together and that fixed my step problem, it's been 8 years trouble free.

Either hold a magnet next to the magnetic reed switch or short the two wires together with a key or screwdriver. If this causes the steps to retract or deploy, replace the magnetic reed switch. They are the least expensive component of all - around $13.00 on Amazon.

Trouble Shooting Step 14 in Manual #880 and #888 is how to test the door switch, did you conduct that test? If you did and it past that test, and you know that the motor works, I think that either you have a blown fuse or one of the two grounds are bad.
I'd start with cleaning the two grounds, putting on new terminals if you have them and cleaning the area where they are attached and using new screws and star or other shake proof washers. I would remove the fuses and clean where they make contact with the fuse case.
If that doesn't work and you completed the tests on page 10, then I think it is time to make the tests on page 10 with a load on the probes. Instead of a DMM or AMM, use a test light. Some times current will flow and measure 12 volts but not be able to carry the required amperage.
Another indication of a possible bad connection somewhere is whether or not the under step light works. If it doesn't light and the bulb tests good, it could be a bad ground.
