It is very important to keep the steps lubed. I had a similar problem that was resolved by lubing all moving parts. There is a travel rod under your steps which is where the linkage is that connects your steps to get them to activate. That rod also requires lubing really well. If you lay down under your steps with them extended you will see that traversing rod above you. Keep all pivot points lubed along with that rod. Manual recommends lube once a month. I just replaced my motor and gear linkage in Oct 2019. Bought everything on Amazon. Total cost was $ 150 plus. Job is not too difficult to do. I wanted all new working parts for the coming season. Never changed out since I bought my coach.( 15 years). Safe travels and enjoy the ride!

Ultimate Guide to Kwikee Step (almost)

Good timing. I recently finished my Ultimate Guide to the Kwikee Step (almost) and it should help you diagnose and repair your step.

There are links that will show you where to buy parts and save a lot of $$$. (Cheaper than Amazon)

Hope it helps!
