LED Strip Lights in Ceiling fixtures falling down

I have installed Supernight 5050 LED Light strips about three years ago to replace the Thinlight flourescent light tubes.

Now I am having some of the strips losing adhesion and dangling onto the light lense.

If you have had this problem, what have you done to restore the strips to their correct attitude?

I cut sticky electrical tape into inch-long narrow strips, lay over the gap between two neighboring emitting diodes that keep the LED strips in place. Use as many as needed.

All glues fail over time, heat decreases the length of time the glue holds. Contrary to the general advertising, LED's do emit some heat.

deandec,
Well Sir, I had that same problem, the NEXT DAY after I installed mine in my overhead fixtures. CRAP! I thought that supposed *3M* glue was supposed to be wazoo glue. Well, not so. So, I looked up what you see in the link, ordered some up and, have used them in multiple applications ever since. It's a cheap fix that will guaranty those strips to NEVER COME DOWN AGAIN.
Scott

I have pictures of the clips holding mine up but, as usual, I can't find them. I'll keep looking. Anyway, you'll get the point when you see them. They work slick.

I used 5 per strip. One on each end, 1 in the middle, and the other 2 spaced between. The ones I purchased are for weatherproof strips. If yours do not have the weatherproof coating, you need the flat ones. https://www.amazon.com/Mounting-Brac...DS9F0TD3ZZ3N77

Use Contact Cement. Buy the brown bottle with the brush. Just brush some cement on both surfaces, wait a few minutes and attach. The Contact Cement won't fail.

Ya know,
They, (as in some of these LED light strip makers) do a fair job of making these light strips up. They work pretty slick. But, the double sided tape they use, SUCKS big time. And some even claim they use *3M* tape, yeah sure they do. So, like Don suggested, Contact Cement is pretty darn good stuff. It's got a good history of holding for eons of time. There are other forms of double sided tape out there that may work but, Contact Cement is pretty much a go-to stick-m substance for me.

Those clips look like they will work the best, I ended using zip ties on mine since there was still something to tie them too in the old lights.

OP here.

I now have some of the flat clips for holding the LED light tape. And am targeting my dangling light strips.

Of course, when I decided to remove several tapes of Warm White leds to replace them with cool white, they were all tightly adhered to the fixture by the backside glue tape.

Thanks to all for the tips...

Run a bead of silicone down the sides.
